Towards bigger projects

The Bassin de Chambly tourism and recreation corporation, formerly called Bassin en Fête and now Concept B, was founded in 1997 and is a non-profit organization dedicated to developing tourism and recreation in Montérégie.

Initially, it was created to provide family-oriented activities for the City of Chambly and through the years, the organization has developed several projects that are still well known to Quebecers to this day.

Since its creation, Concept B has been involved in several events as well as tourism and recreation activities in Quebec.
From a complete event organization to a simple logistic support, our team’s objective has always been to showcase Quebec’s local products and their artisans.

In 2001, the City of Chambly issued a call for tenders to create a beer festival and encouraged local organizations and businesses to submit their proposal. Concept B stood out then by the nature of its ideas and the Bières et Saveurs de Chambly Festival was born. To this day, this event is renowned not only in the craft beer industry but also in the event organization industry and through the years, it really has become the organization’s greatest success and a summertime must!
With the flourishing success of Bières et Saveurs de Chambly and the gained expertise after 15 editions, Concept B launched an event to showcase Quebec’s micro distilleries.

Following a first edition held in Chambly, called “Alcools et Saveurs,” the concept was tweaked and relaunched in 2017 in Longueuil as “festival Caribü.

In 2015, a collaboration between Beer Events, the Barcelona Beer Festival and Concept B was born. For the past 5 years, Concept B has been developing business opportunities for its clients by introducing Quebec beers and ciders to thousands of international festival goers. As an expansion and growth vector, Concept B offers Quebec local producers a greater visibility and therefore new international markets.

In 2020, Concept B widens its operations and ambitions. Faced with the Covid-19 pandemic, the team launches several creative ideas, always with the same goal of showcasing our local producers. A number of these projects emerged.

With this in mind, the Concept B boutique was born. It is a virtual space where it is possible to discover new local products while supporting buy-local initiatives. The boutique allows local businesses to continue selling online via this platform. Soon, Concept B is planning to launch a phase 2 of its boutique with more businesses and more local products.

With Bières et Saveurs de Chambly’s blooming success and the acquired expertise after 15 successful editions, we have renewed the festival’s experience by offering a second similar event showcasing Quebec’s micro distilleries. After a first edition in Chambly called “Alcools et Saveurs,” we tweaked the concept and the festival was reborn in 2017 in Longueuil under the name of ” festival Caribü. ”

History

The Bassin de Chambly recreational corporation, previously called Bassin en Fête and then Concept B, is a non-profit organizations devoted to recreational and tourist development in Monteregie. Our main goal was to offer family activities for the city of Chambly and over the years we have developed several projects still remembered by the residents. Since its creation, Concept B has been involved in a multitude of recreational events and activities in the region. Whether it was the organization of an entire event or just the logistics support, the goal was first and foremost to partake in the development and diffusion of local and regional cultural events.

In 2001, the city of Chambly launched a call for tender to create a beer festival and supported local businesses to submit their projects. Concept B stood out then with their ideas and their event called “La Fête Bières et Saveurs. ” Ten years later, this event will change its name to “le festival Bières et Saveurs de Chambly.” To this day, this event is recognized not only by the craft beer world but also by the event planning world and, over the years, it has become the organization’s biggest success and a summer must!

With Bières et Saveurs de Chambly’s blooming success and the acquired expertise after 15 successful editions, we have renewed the festival’s experience by offering a second similar event showcasing Quebec’s micro distilleries.
